Fall Foliage

Fall Foliage
Starvation creek falls

The Spring and Falls seasons are great for photography.  Back home in India, we don't see the fall colors much and we would always watch them in movies . I always dreamt of capturing these colors and when I traveled to USA I was able to see these fall colors, it is so beautiful. In last 5 to 6 years, I have visited many places nearby  to see the fall colors and have listed them below. If you have plans to see fall colors do check the fall foliage map before visiting the place.

Dillon falls

Dillon falls is located near Bend, Oregon. I had seen some photos in instagram  about this place, so I planned to visit it. I visited this place, almost at the end of the season. The beauty of this place is that you can see the reflection of trees in the river. In this river people do kayak and there is a water falls on the river.

Old Columbia River Gorge Hwy

There are lot of Water falls, small bridges, various view points and narrow zig and zag roads which makes this place more beautiful during fall season. There are multiple hikes on this way,  so we can enjoy the beauty by walking or hiking these trails.

Silver state Park

Silver state park has 10 waterfalls which are beautiful in falls season. The total hike to all the waterfalls takes around 2 to 3hrs.

Proxy falls

The nearest town to Proxy falls is Sisters, Oregon and located on the Hwy 242. This route is closed during the winter and the route has lot of Zig zag roads so drive carefully. The fall folliage around this area is also very good.

Portland Japanese Garden

One of my favorite place to go in fall season. When we went to this place last year, it was almost in the middle of the season so some trees leaves were already gone, but I could take some of these beautiful pictures.

There are many beautiful places in Mt. Rainer and Olympic national Park, do check them out.
